re: bowflex

I exercise every day! I exercise my eating habits. Mountain Dew, Poptarts, Ramen noodles, and Chef Boyardee! And some times Pringles potato crisps too.

Some of you may have noticed I've been loosing a little weight lately . . . or at least toning up a bit . . . maybe you haven't noticed, but here's my secret:

I started out about two months ago with a 5 pound sack of potatoes.  I lifted that sack 5 times with each arm twice a day for a week.  Then I started adding reps . . . till I got up to 25 reps with each are 3 times a day.  Then I went to 10 pound sacks.  Then 20.  Now I'm up to 50 reps with each arm 5 times a day using the 50 pound sack.

Next week, I think I might be ready to put some of the potatoes back in the sack before I lift it.

ROTFLMAO  Zen I will get you for that one. I was reading along taking this all serious and got to the punch line. I almost choked on the coke I was drinking.

Since my name has been used in vain here a couple of times       I have to say, I'm usually in bed by at the latest 11pm BUT I'm up between 5:30 and 6am EVERY morning. I enjoy drinking coffee and watching the sun come up. It's my quiet time, if you will. They used to ask me at work if I woke up grumpy and I always said, " No, I let her sleep"      and if anyone tells Dee, I won't get mad, but you can rest assured I WILL get even.

You late nighters should try going to bed at a decent time and getting up early. It gives you a much better outlook on life. For you youngn's out there, as you watch the sun come up you know it's going to be a good day because you ARE watching the sun come up. For those of us who have had some doubtful times as to whether or not we might not see that sight any more, you get as many of those times in as you can.

Duly notes quote for future reference!!!!

Personally, I think the siesta is underrated.  I think we need to adopt that custom in this country.  I mean, hell, we're already adopting the language for crying out loud... How about a little afternoon nappy-poo???
That would greatly aid in my nocturnal ways.
Any takers?  Game on...

Herb I will agree with you on afraid one day we or I might not get to see the sun come up.It is a good thing to get up when there is no one up just to get your thought's in for the day before all hell breaks loose.I'm really trying to get in the bed earlier.Just having a bad time.Wake up at 3am if I go to bed too early.I used to get up at 330am get a shower and all and out the door for a 1 and1/2 hour drive to work.So I could get off around 4pm to try to beat the Atlanta traffic.I could do it in my younger day's but when I got to be just a little younger than CJ it started getting to me.Can't do it any more.Sorry Copper Jewel.Had to use you for a age thing lol lol.Just kidding. I'm older than you.Oh by the way.Never mind I won't break the thread this time.VW girl are you still working for yourself or did you give in? After the olympics seemed like everyone stayed. So the traffic got worse where 85 south meet's with 316.I know most of ya'll don't know where that is but is hell now.Made it not worth the drive. The older you get you try to not have to live off of so much money.I used to kill myself in my younger day's but then the old body just tells the rest to forget it lol.

The reason I can't take a nap is because my naps are 4 hours long.lol 10 minutes would just make me mad lol. This sleep apnea is no fun. It's a curse is what it is.Even with the old sleeping drug ambien I wake up in 2 or three hours.Anyone ever use any of this.45 dollars out of pocket for 18 after insurance then if you want the other twelve it's 55 for the rest of them.Insurance or our insurance doesn't cover them.Crappy insurance. Now if you are in the military you get 60 of them at one time for 9 dollars,go figure. My daughter is married to a marine and everything they get is 9 dollars.I'm on my wifes isurance because it use to be the best being a teacher.Boy they changed to something that has the higher price on them.We use to have the better 90 percent but as she got older the school system changed to 80 % and higher deductables. What a rip off. When she retired they dropped dental so guess I will have to go get us a good blender.

when did i work for myself? I have been at the same job for the past two years! not that it means anything as we are going through a merger AGAIN...

but yeah... i wish i could work for myself... I could deal with either being a teacher (don't ask why, i know i'd make last money, but its been something stuck in my head for the past decade) or a professional photographer... but i like to take pics of what i like... so that may be difficult... but I do take some pretty kick ass pictures... I wish i could at least publish those to share with you all.

What Hell do you mean you can't be a Pro Photographer because you like to take photos of just what you like. As far as I'm consurned that is exactly what a Pro does.  I don't think I ever heard of Ansel Adams or Dan Weston spending all their lives taking photos of screaming ,snotty nose kids at Wally-World.
Linda and I are into big format ,  8x10---5x7 view cameras. This where you spend the day running around and end up taking maybe 10 photos of what we liked. Setting one of these beast up takes a little time, but its worth it.  We use a digital Nikon to check the subjet out first.
You are headed for Gods country in Wash. State.  I used to live in Bremerton, west of Seattle during WW-2.  Navy Brat.  Even at age 8-9 ,I remember how beautiful it was.
     Have Fun !!

I have a few friends in seattle and have promising i'd go... must visit the troll under the bridge that captured the vw tho!   i've never been, but hope to drive my bus out there some day

i'm my own mechanic.. cant afford to pay someone to fix my 24 cars so someone has to do it! i dont much like working on others cars  though, but it surely pays better than my day job!
