A Huge Help

« on: October 16, 2008, 09:13:20 PM »
I would like to thank all who have helped me in the last few days with my many questions.  It's nice to have people to conversate with that know so much and are willing to share with someone that they hardly know.  I would also like to give a huge thanks to Brian and Fred.  They came out tonight and helped me move my bug body inside my shop and onto my chassis so that I could get my floorpans installed.  I could have never done it without them.  Of the people I have met, all have been cool people.  That is hard to find nowadays in a car club.  Especially two members, one of which who met me once, and the other whom I had never met before.  That is cool as hell to me.  Well enough of all that, get out there and build or enjoy your VW and hope to meet everyone else soon.

You won't find a better bunch of people.  Whether it was being broke down 150 miles from home or sitting in the back yard, one of them has always shown up when I needed them!  This seems to be a common trait amoung the folks from most VW clubs.  Our club has worked a few open car shows for charities . . . and if I learned one thing from the experiance, it was that VW people are a lot more fun to hang around than most other "car people."

I would have to agree 100%.  By working at Honest Charley, almost all of our clientel are street rodders, hot rodders, drag racers and/or some kind of muscle car enthusiast.  Most all of them are arrogant people.  I have nothing against them, nor do I want to offend anyone, but most are like that.  For this reason, I have not attended any type of car show/cruise-in in about 5 years.  I just can't stand that type of person.  The cruise-in last Friday night was my first.  After seeing the fellowship of everyone there, I will be attending the VW events.
