. I think the Bug had some sort of accident in the process.    Wed.night   9:00 pm  Speed Channel.

I would really like to know what happened to cause the crash.  Did I hear something about a right rear axle breaking ?  I belive the Bug would have finished the Honda off if it had been allowed to keep its "wheelie bars" to keep the front wheels on the ground. The FWD Honda didn't have to worry about not being able to steer the car. Hats off to the Guys who built the Beetle engine. Samba had the engine specs on their site. How many engines can you think of that started off being 60 HP and ended up with 400 HP with a turbo and a little laughing gas and lived to tell the tale. Truly an amazing little "Critter" don't you think? :thumbs-up:

Yes Bugtech they did say something about an axle braking and making him wreck. I think if the axle would not have broke he would have took the Honda. Because he almost hit the Honda when he crossed the track and hit the wall. Just think what it would have done if he could have ran a straight line. WOW

I believe that this entire show was covered recently in one of the past months of Hot VW's.  I think it was either this month's or the one before that.

The bug looked strong maybe too strong to give up those wheelie bars. As for the Honda I had close to the same setup awhile ago An H22 2.2vtec makes 200hp stock add alittle here and there and a big turbo and he was makin 400hp easy. I think the cars were close the driving had alot to do with it. If guy woulda been able to keep it straight it would have been nice to watch.
