64 Years Ago Today . . .

From Today in VW History:  April 11, 1945: Nazi control of KDF-stad (later renamed Wolfsburg) ended when American Troops appeared on the horizon. The occupants of the town and the factory workers approched the American troops asking for protection from the approching Solviet Army and remenants of the German SS.

That's pretty significant.  Think what would have happended to VW if the Solviets had gotten there first.    :?:
