The last air-cooled Beetle rolled off the assembly line in Mexico 4 years ago today.

That was yesterday. 33 years ago today (July 1, 1974) the Volkswagen plant in Wolfsburg ceased production of the Beetle after 30 years and 11,916,519 cars.
