1964 Streched Convertible Limo Bug

« on: July 16, 2011, 07:21:06 PM »

There is a guy named Greg I believe that I meet a few years back at BAP that had an 1964 convertible limo bug that his father had built back years ago. It is an open roadster style front with a second windshield and a convertible top rear. It also has the complete Rolls Royce body kit on it. If you know of this car or can point me in the correct direction to find this person again I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

It was on a roll back if I remember correctly. It was probably in 2006 or so. I might have a photo of it in an old 35mm album somewhere. Don't know the guy but would like to see it again!

You are correct. It was on a rollback at the show. I got his number and talked to him but have since lost the number and would love to talk to him again about it.

I am still searching for this car. If anyone can help out it would be greatly appreciated.

I know the car was for sale at BAP back about 6 years ago so if anyone still has records from who was selling stuff there Im sure that we could find the guy.

Please Please help me out.

Thanks

I remember the car, but have no idea who had it for sale.  As for the records from previous shows, some of them may exist somewhere, but I really doubt we could locate info on the for sale corral from 6 years ago.  But, we have our club meeting and Christmas party coming up Monday night.  I'll ask if anyone there knows where any of our old show records are.  If I can locate the records, I'll be happy to look through them and see what I can find for you.  Don't hold your breath, but, you never know . . .   ;)

Do you remember for sure what year it was, or anything about the show that might help pin-point the year?  Was the show in the grass field or out in the parking lot . . . or was it the year we started setting up in the field and rain forced us into the parking lot (that was BP-8, Year of the Rabbit).

Oh and in the photo of the photo, you can't see Jack's rig to the right of that white late bay and above the front of the maroon beetle, if that helps you figure out the year! I believe this was 2006 because thats when I bought my first beetle and came home to visit the show. I ended up buying floor plans from someone over near the "bathroom on the hill" (might have been Aubrey) and installed floor plans that weekend while also attending the show!

That was before my parent's knew I had bought a rusty bug and I was keeping it in a storage shed. They happened to be out of town, so I came home and made a HUGE mess putting in new floor pans, but I was able to do it and get it cleaned up without them knowing any better. It was a few months before they knew I had made such a purchase...
