Herb, The longest I have waited lately is about 5-7 sec. About a month before the old PC died, I was waiting anywhere from 3-5 min. Maybe your PC has a bunch of "crap" on it.  I was told by a PC Nerd that if I was running any kind of Spyware and it got to the point where it could not keep up with all the "junk",It would shut down taking all the" built in" protection(Norton etc.) with it leaving you helpless. He also told me that you had to up-date your Spyware just about every week for it to work. He told me the spyware was like a ice cube. If you didn`t up-date,it just sort of melted away. I don`t know if all this is true or not, Im not having any kind of problems as of yet with the Mac other than my lack of computer skills.  Talk to your son in-law.

I've noticed the same thing, Zen.  Other websites pop up real fast (like 3 or 4 seconds) and this whole website (email, forums, etc.) took about 20 or so seconds.  And with Comcast High Speed, that is slow.  
I did dump about 4 hours of recorded TV off of my hard drive and it did speed up the loading of our website stuff just a little.

Someone over at the street car forums posted a rather large file and everyone was downloading it, thus killing our bandwidth. Everything should be fine now.
