Problems directing links to volksfolks gallery

« on: November 07, 2005, 10:18:17 PM »
On the Shop Talk Southeastern forums, there is a Picture Gallery forum where in order to post a picture you have to have it go to a url where the picture is hosted.  I have posted some pictures there of my Volkswagens.  Some people can see them, others can't.  Those that can't get the message that is located here:

Is our gallery like some other galleries (like Yahoo! or others) that won't let you share pictures that way?  I know that I can direct people to our gallery by posting a link, but can I not use the url to upload a picture to other sites?

Am I saying this correctly?

Yes, pictures cannot be directly linked to outside the gallery. It's done to prevent bandwidth theft.

Okey-dokey.  I'll do it some other way.
Thanks, Russ.

You could use your free space (gobusgo.volksfolks.org) to host the pictures and link them that way, but linking to stuff in the gallery is not good. There have been cases of people hotlinking to our movies and stuff.

I'm surprised STF doesn't allow you to upload pictures directly anyways.
