there have been issues with "New Posts" link showing old posts you've read and also the board not allowing you to "logout".

if you've experienced anything related to these, please tell us here to help narrow down the bug.

thanx

Well, now that you mention it....yep, the new posts button has been showing stuff I have read and I was not able to log out yesterday, just figured the message board REALLY wanted me around  :cool:

My problem is the "same ol' new posts" problem.  I don't know about the logout problem, but I have to log in every time I visit.   :3dmad:  :cussing: :mecry: :help  :questions:  :nervous:  :smoke:  :thumbs-up:

Your browser may not be set to accept cookies, I'm logged in all the time...I don't use the 'check new posts' option, I just read what's new and then expire them by clicking 'mark all posts read' at the bottom

Unless my computer had a brain sneeze, I had the cookies set up.  I have not had to log in since the start...but all of a sudden I have to.

Open up your Temporary Internet Files folder and delete the cookie from europa.your-site.com. Now refresh the forum and log in again. That should take care of it. If it doesn't, well, then we'll have to rip Internet Explorer. Then we'll rip TCP/IP, as well as the drivers for your network adapter. At this point we'll have to uninstall Windows, fdisk your partition, and perform a low-level format on your hard disk. If it doesn't work after that, well, you're gonna need a new computer. A big one. I'll volunteer to haul your old one off to the "junkyard" for you though. Sorry, but that's just the way it is when your computer has a brain sneeze. Pity it had to come to this.

has anyone that was experiencing this problem resolved it?

did russ' fix work for you?

on a mac, just go to your browsers prefs, select cookies, and delete any that are titled "europa-your-site.com" and "forums.volksfolks.org".

let us know.

I'm having the problem now of not staying logged in. Every time I close the browser and go back to the forum it requests that I log in again. I took my advice and deleted the cookie things, but it still doesn't work. I checked them again and noticed it's not giving me a cookie to hold my login. Anyone else having this problem?

Anyone else having to log in every time they re-visit the forum? I just happened to load the page and noticed I didn't have to. Checked and made sure the right cookies are where they need to be now. I can't think of what has changed to cause this error, but it seems to be overwith now. Anyone else with this issue, please let us know here.

Thanks Perk, all is right with the world again :)

the forum admin section has a place in it (after much hunting) that specifies where the cookies go.
i just reset this and that's when everyone started getting on again.

i'm really in over my head on the coding part, but it seemed to do the trick.

this may be a "glitch" in the software. hopefully it won't be a regularly occurring phenomenon.

so, all is well with the world again....
