I think I can make the username and avatar to the left of each post a link too, it's just a matter of digging into the code and finding out exactly which file that bit lives.
Someday I'd like to upgrade our rather old installation of phpBB to something newer too, but I've got a lot of planning to do before I'm ready for that.
