Gallery error on uploaded video files

« on: December 19, 2004, 09:01:28 AM »
Russ, what am I doing wrong? A couple of months ago, I uploaded several cool VW Commercials that came from the VW of South Africa web site.  They played fine from the gallery at the time, but now I get the following message in Windows Media Player (see graphic below).  I even tried to re-upload one of them, but get the same message.

This is not a problem with the Gallery, it's just that your computer cannot play the file. I have no idea what this message you're getting means, but it plays fine on my system. Sorry I can't help.

Do all of them play on your system?  The ones in quicktime still play fine . . . it's just the ones that open in media player that give me the message.  They play fine in media player when I open them from my hard drive.    :?

And before you say it, I know I should get a Mac . . .

Yeah, they all play fine. I just watched them all cause I'm bored at work. Mine all play using QuickTime too. Can you save the movie to your computer, and play it in QT? Maybe it's just a problem with Windows Media Player. I'm not that well-versed in Windows to tell you for sure though. All I know is they're working fine here  :P
