Johnny Lightning Fully Loaded Herbie

« on: June 15, 2005, 10:37:00 AM »
Johnny Lightning has some new Herbie toys out for the new movie.  They have 2, 1:18 scale Herbies; Junkyard Herbie and Classic Herbie.  There is also some 1:64 scale cars also 2 five packs and single cars.

Five pack A contains Classic Herbie, Junkyard Herbie, Demolition Herbie, Chrome Herbie, and 2004 Volkswagen Beetle.

Pack B has Classic Herbie, Demolition Herbie, Chrome Herbie, 2004 Volkswagen Beetle, and a 2004 Pontiac GTO.

The single cars are Classic Herbie, Junkyard Herbie, Demolition Herbie, 2004 Volkswagen Beetle, 2004 Pontiac GTO.

Also, there are some younger kids "soft" cars that make noises.  There are four of those:  Heribe, Nascar Herbie, the Yellow New Beetle from the movie, and an orange and white Splitty Bus.

There are also some GIANT remote control VWs.  I'm not sure exactly what they look like or what scale, but Carla found some at Wal-Mart in Dalton today and put 4 of them in lay away for me.  Two Buses and two bugs . . . I "think" the bus is an orange and white splitty and the bugs are the classic Herbie.  I haven't seen actually seen them yet, but Carla told me they were "twice as big as that big black New Beetle you have."  That one is 1/6 scale.  These are expensive (that's why they are in lay away) . . . something like $96 each.  I've also got 1 of the 1/18 scale junkyard Herbies and 2 of the classic Herbies in lay away at the LaFayette Wally World.  And 3 of the junkyard Herbies and 2 classic Herbies at Dalton.

 I NEED PROFFESIONAL HELP!!!  I've got $600 worth of TOYS in lay away!

Well, at least I had enough sense to put them in lay away instead of spending the house payment on them . . . maybe there is a little hope.  Maybe.

Well, I gott'a run.  There's a Wally World in Summerville that I haven't hit yet . . .

Hmmmm, Would this be a good time to talk about the `63 ?   Its either that or its off to the  Betty Ford Clinic for you. I wonder if toy VWs could be considered a "subtance" ?. If they are, you are in BIG trouble and need a lot of help. Tell me about your childhood and your relationship with the outside world. Does Joy support your habit ? If she does, you both need help pronto

Carla was in Dalton after her classes and ran over to Wal-Mart before heading home.  She saw the giant remotes and call Joy to tell her about them.  Joy had already told her to get all 4 of them and put them in layaway BEFORE she had even called me to tell me about them.  She didn't even have any idea what they cost until after the fact.  Joy called me and told me to call Carla . . . I had her go back to the toy department and ask the guy putting out new toys if they had any of the Johnny Lightning Herbies.  He looked through the boxes and found a case of the 18th scale Junkyard Herbies and a case of the Classic Herbies.  I had her put 5 of them in layaway (which between there and LaFayette, gives me 4 of each of them in layaway).  So, it total, I have put about $160 worth of toys in layaway.  Joy has put $400 worth in.  She tries to blame it all on me, but if it hadn't of been for her, I would have never gotten into Volkswagens.  It's her fault . . . she needs help worse than I do!

One time we were Circle Yer Wagens and she told me VERY plainly "We DO NOT have any money to spend on toys!"  I took a $20 bill and started scrounging of cheap used parts that I could buy . . . not that I really needed anything, but I'm adicted.  I gott'a buy something!  Anyway, after a couple of hours of diging around in used parts I bumped into Joy at one of the toy vendors.  I still had about $15.  Joy had a sack with about $60 worth of Johnny Lightning cars!  Like I said, she needs help worse than me!  And I admit it, I need help!

Hummm  :-k . . . I've got nearly $600 worth of toys I need to pay for and my vacation broke me.  Yeah, Bugtech, now would be a very good time to start flashing some cash and asking about the '63.  I hate to part with it and I've got a bundle tied up in it (I came out on the short end of a few trades before I ended up with it) . . . but, as they say, money talks.  Right now, my wallet is whispering!

I went looking after the "heads up" about the Johnny Lightning toys and I did find 3 of the 1/6th scale Kubelwagens at the Wal Mart in Cleveland. These are a little bit nicer than the one I already have as they have soldiers in them with an assortment of weapons. I didn't see a price but I think they are about $30.

Try $67!!!!       I want one . . . but not at that price!  There are a bunch of them at the Wal-Mart just off the interstate in Dalton (Rocky Face exit).  They didn't have any of the Herbie stuff though.  The other Wal-Mart in Dalton (near Walnut Square Mall) is the one that Carla found all the Herbie stuff at.

Zen, as long as you're in the dealing mood, want to do our deal on those wheels at the meeting Monday? Looks like I'll be hanging on to the Ghia, and those wheels would be just the thing to set it off! And a paint job. Yeah, it needs that too. But first, the wheels!
