Thanks for putting the pics up Zen. The look on my face were nothing to the feeling in my gut....and of the seat cover up my butt the first time he shot up like a bullet when we got him hooked back electrically and charged the air tank....it took some adjusting of the solenoid relief valves to make him go up and down slowly like its supposed to.
But WOW !!!!!! I have a real Herbie....and he works, thats more than I can say about lots of other real Herbie collectors I know.

I think I'll have my nephew paint my kiddie ride to match it . . . then turn it sideways on the base so it go up and down sideways instead of front to back.

Well...believe it or not....I am talking to the guy,Alex, the owner of Herbie # 14 that you are looking at on here. It is the 4 wheel steering Herbie that was featured in Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo and fought the bull in Herbie Goes Bananas. I will let you know what happens...even more interesting is that I got a letter and a nice autographed picture from Dean Jones in the mail Saturday, really neat story of how that all happened  ::)

Well, the letter and photo came about a few months ago. Tammy and I went on one of those time share cruises for a vacation. You get a free cruise if you sit through one of those presentations. We already have one so we werent going to buy one, but hey, its a free cruise....kind of. Anyway, the salesman they paired us with was a really nice guy and understood we already had one, but to get the cruise we had to hear his shpill. Instead of the sales pitch we just shot the bull while being shown around. Well, the onversation got on Vws and that I had 2 Herbies. He said "wow, what a small world, Dean Jones is my ex father in law" Anyway we heard all about it and he wanted me to email pics and a note to Dean to send him through his son. I thought, yeah right, he is a good salesman and played off my Herbies and Vws like salesmen do. About a month or so later, I got a phone call from him telling me to get him the stuff because his son was going to his grandfathers, I did. I thought nothing more about it until last saturday when I got this big manilla envelope in the mail with the note and autographed picture. How cool is that !?!?!? I just mailed Mr.Jones a thank you card today.

I've heard that it's been proven that everybody in the world can connect to anybody else in the world by going through 6 people or less.  It really is a small world after all.
