This bike is dedicated to TRavis

« on: June 15, 2012, 09:18:35 PM »
I read Travis's Post about the Cool Stingray and while in Fla I saw this bike at the Goodwill.  It was sad and abused..but it had Straight wheels and Huge steering wheel.  Its Repro Schwinn Jaguar.  $30 for the Bike, $4 for the inner tube,  and $21 for the 7 speed rear derailer. $4 bucks for a can of pretty good spray paint. I am Stoked.. sc

SC I think that this is the best thing with tires that you have bought in a long time.
Put your kid on it and he will have a newfound respect for the cars you buy for him.

Soooo......

Smelly Cat.....

That seems WAY too simple and straight forward for you... what's the catch?   ???

And, if there is no catch, I will simply say, "Nice Bike"...  :D

Well nothing is ever simple for me.  See/get bike.  Went to the store got a can of
fixaflat for the bike and a new inner tube in case the fixaflat did not work.  I have 2 of the Kids in the car with 2 other bikes.  We drive to the local College to ride.  Spray in the fixaflat. White goo is leaking out of the rim , the tire, and the apparently the hole.  Rats.  I'm in FWB Fla and it is Hot.   Time to take off the wheel while my 20 somethings are rolling eyes at me.  Wheel back on,  We are rolling.

Near the bike trail it says Beware of  Alligators, bears and Panthers.  How cool is that?    After the ride,  we Cool off at the movies and see Men in Black 3.  Which was pretty good.   Back at the Condo it is time to tune up the gears.  The rear derailer is broke but I rig it up with spare paper clip. I get my Daughter to try it out while I watch.   She shifts from 7,6,5,4,3 to 2.  When she shifts to 1.  ( Big sprocket by wheel spokes)  The derailer  rams into the spokes,  spokes catch derailer gears and violently rips the derailer from the back hanger.  It made a terrible noise that  sounded like I just flushed 30 bucks down the toilet.  The rest  is history.   SC

OMG !  Whizzers?  I have had a covey of those things. Then Cushmans, Mustangs(not the car) Triumph Speed Twin, a Ariel 500 cc single and the best of all a Vinsent Black Shadow. Now there was a Bike. The dang thing nearly killed me.
