Seriously, I broke a cardinal rule of VW'dome.
I bought a Honda, no not a 1990's Smelly Cat honda.
This is a 1978 1200 Civic that is very simular to my 1st car, which was also a 1978 civic. It idles oddly in that it has a racing cam and has 1300 rods and crank, topped with a set of Gold wing pistons.
It needs tires, but is pretty solid.
Has a later 5 spd trans in it. Idle is crazy, but it opens up after 3K RPM.
I do not know how long I will keep it, but it has been a blast going down memory lane today driving it.
the engine is supposed to be making about 100-110 hp.  Carb is a DOHE Webber 40 side draft, with a heated aftermarket intake.
It is loud and gets alot of road noise, just like I remember...
Mine had a hole in the mufler(s) when I owned it, this one just has a huge exhaust with a Stainless resonating Fart Can on the back.
Photos to come, cover your eyes...
