Hey David!  I ran across an add for coal on craigslist.  It's in Dalton:  http://chattanooga.craigslist.org/mat/2758782725.html

Did you ever find any coal? I went to the home show and talked to some folks that sold all those wood stoves and coal stoves. They said that there is a famer's market stand in Cleveland, on HWY 64, one red light east of the bypass. They apparently have coal trucked in for local blacksmiths and what not. That's who they suggest getting coal for their stoves.

Did you ever get that thing installed? I never got a call to help...

I was told about the Cleveland coal. Zen told me about a place in Dalton that sells coal. They have a web site.  I haven't talk to them as yet.  Herb has a friend thats putting up a new shop for him that knows how to install wood /coal stoves. He has been over here and looked things over and can install when he catches up with Herbs project and the weather dries up a bit.

Hey David, if you're still looking for some coal, here's some (he says approx. 1 ton) free for the taking:   http://chattanooga.craigslist.org/zip/3214824457.html

Thanks Zen.   It looks like stoker coal.  The big problem is Me getting it out of the basement.I will call him to get details though.

It is stoker coal.  To small for my pot belly stove. It would burn up too fast.  I really need  "lump" coal.  Maybe 3-4 "   stuff.   This stove will burn wood, coal or both at the same time.
Thanks Zen for looking out for me.

I look at the "Free Stuff" section of Chattanooga and North West GA craigslist almost every day.  Mostly dogs and cats and free firewood (many times requiring you to be insured  in case something goes wrong when you cut the tree 5 feet from their house that is hanging over the power lines) . . . but every now and then there is something worthwhile listed.  And the price is right.  I can almost afford free!
