Wide 5 questions - 1970 Westy

« on: December 24, 2009, 09:06:02 AM »
Dubtech, Bugnut, anyone else...

I am working on a 1970 Westy, I am interested in any experiences or advice any one has on aftermarket wheels for this set up, I like the looks of:
BRM's
Sprintstars
Radars / Raders (heard can be a pain to get on something about the axel nut size...)
Empi 5 clones (seems to be most common).
I am also interested in any others that you have had personal experiences with.
Thanks for the help,
KC

I'll check around with some guys for you KC, I have always been a purist and run stock steelies on all of my buses,  so i could only give second-hand testimonials.

Nice,
The empi and BRM clones are <$100 each, that is dooable.
The question is, will they fit?
The Bus has a swirl cast into the rear hub (simular to the '67 beetle rear hub, though not as pronounced)

I am trying to see if anyone here has actually mounted any of these with any success.

Thanks,
KC

I think he means the external ribbing reenforcement in the splined / hub area.
