Wheel question.

« on: August 19, 2011, 05:56:57 PM »
Did not know if this is to go here or general discusion. The question is Can wheels such as those from an older chevy Iroc camero be used on a beetle if you use wheel adapters or would they be too big with the tires for them. Just curious because a house out near me always has yard sales and they have a set for sale that are almost the same color as my beetle.

I've heard that the wheel adapters aren't the best way to mount wheels to a drum. Its kinda a weak point, but then again, a lot of people use them or have used them for 1,000s of miles. I think you rubbing might be more of an issue on the front end. The backs would probably be ok if you didn't go too wide. The fronts are more likely to rub. Perhaps you should post up what size tires and wheels you are considering.

the tires are 205 65 15 . would these be too big and if so can a smaller tire be put on them to stop the possible rubbing.
