I keep seeing these old vws for sale with titles like
" Real gas saver 35 Mpg.  "
Do these folks know how to calculate mpg?.  35mpg with a bug! Give me a break.    Am I wrong?   let me have it.   SC

PS  Stupie might get 35mpg since it he gets nervous when I drive over 45 and starts shaking  from fear. Off course my tank leaks and the gauge. no  work and I'm afraid to fill Stupie up.   He might  Jihad me.  SC

Even though it's bigger and heavier, has twice the power, has air-conditioning and heat, and power steering . . . and power disc brakes . . . and even power windows, a New Beetle can get 35 MPG.  The TDI versions can hit 50 MPG on the highway.  BUT, you can't keep one on the road with parts from a Kenmore drier.  Even though almost any new car will beat it hands down on gas milage, when you figure in ALL the cost, it's still cheaper to drive an air-cooled Beetle,
