Weber 38DGASM

« on: March 24, 2014, 08:49:04 PM »
I have what I assume to be a stock 1600 dual port engine in my 1972 beetle and I came across what seems to be a good deal on a weber 38dgasm and adapter.  Will this setup work without much modification and will it be worth my troubles?  Thanks.

I'm not sure you will get a great response from this crowd. Most folks on here are running stock or close to stock configurations due to simplicity. While that may not directly answer your question, you read from it what you want (after market carbs can be far from simple, especially depending on what they were set up for and jetted for).

Like he said,  stock and simple,  driven the thing for several years now with oil changes and minor adjustments,  rarely lets me down
