This is a simple search on thesamba.com for water pump:
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/search.php?search_keywords=water+pump&search_terms=all&search_author=&topic_starter=0&search_forum=5&search_time=0&search_fields=titleonly&search_cat=-1&sort_by=0&sort_dir=DESC&show_results=topics&return_chars=200

This is one where a guy in a 77 asks and Ratwell (of ratwell.com, an awesome bus site BTW...) responds.

No worries. Thesamba.com is probably one of the biggest aircooled VW forums, but beware: the bay window section is full of very particular people... They HATE anything non-stock or inexpensive. They will chastise you for doing it any way other than their way. BUT they do have a lot of smart people and they do know the better ways to fix things along with all of the specifics between years. If you go to their forum tab and click, it will drop down a menu. Click "Search." Then you can type in keywords and select "Title" only. There is a drop down menu that lets you select the forum (Bay Window Bus forum for your model).

Ratwell is a member on that site and he also has Ratwell.com, which has very detailed step by step directions, as well as where to get the parts, for pretty much anything involving a Bay Window Bus. He occasionally updates those tech pages when parts or techniques change. Definitely a HUGE resource for the bus community.

well, i thought i'd fill it up with water before messing with it.  i'm thinking i blew the fuse by turning it on and off with no water...i know better!

but,...now water is leaking out of the bottom of the cabinet...... so, draining it now and will have to mess with it when i get back...oh well

At least 2Xs in my experience, the leak has been due to someone leaving water in the system that freezes and blows out the pump body. Most recently in the '82, I super-glued (Gorilla Super Glue) it back together. Filled the tank and let it sit to check, and it held. Result!
It shouldn't blow a fuse running without water. Check the switch-sometimes they're dicey. I might have a spare here, so let me know if you need one.

FREEZE FRIDAY NIGHT! Get all the water out of y'all's systems!
