Turn signals still aren't working

« on: September 19, 2002, 12:36:50 PM »
I still don't have turn signals. All the bulbs are good, I've double-double-checked them, and all the fuses are good. I've double-double-checked them. Last night I replaced the relay for the second time that is supposed to make them blink. Now, the indicator light in the dash for the turn signals stays on all the time and the turn signals still don't work. Do I have a short somewhere?

Turn signals still aren't working

Check your grounds.  Clean and make sure they're tight, even if they seem okay.  Esp. check the ones in the taillight buckets.  Those can be a problem.  While you're in there, make sure no wires are touching or rubbed through.  Bad grounds cause all sorts of wierd things to happen to lights and flashers.  I remember my bus's right blinker wouldn't work, and the brakes caused the back-up lights to turn on.  Had to replace the bucket, and it cleared right up.  Good luck!
