I am wanting to flat tow a Ghia to my house and the tires are rotten on the Ghia.  I have some extra '72 beetle rims at the house and wanted to mount some new tires on them so that I can get the ghia home.  I have heard horror stories about the fitment on the back with ghias and am concerned that the 165 80 R 15 tires may be too wide on the 5" steelies that I have.

IF there is a larger tire that I could run I would be interested in knowing that as well, because I would like to eventually get a set of 914 wheels (alloys) on the ghia because they look great....

Scott - Didn't you have a Ghia with fitment issues?
