Thanks, Godfather

I've owned my 67 split window bus for several years and I've never had operating "heat" (if you can call it that    ) I've had "Lucille" sitting in the carport now for a year and a half with her butt up in the air. The engine has been out, the transmission was out, the gas tank was out and the wiring harness was out. As of yesterday afternoon, the gas tank is back in and in like new condition with a new sending unit and all. I started to put the transmission back in that the Godfather rebuilt for me but decided to first address my heater cables first. They wouldn't move in either direction. With the Godfather's guidance, I got the old cables out and took an old clutch cable I had here, chucked it up in my drill and started it thru the heater cable tubes. It was just like using a "snake" that Zen and plumbers use trying to clear a stopped up drain line. BE SURE AND DON'T GO AGAINST THE TWIST OF THE CABLE!!!!!!!. Have your drill turning in the same direction as the twist on the cable.

After about 30 minutes of spraying PB Blaster on the cable and moving it in slowly, I now have clear heater cable tubes. The new cables are installed and guess what......................THEY WORK!!!!!! =D>  =D>  :thumbs-up:  =D>  =D>

Guys and gals, if you have a problem with your VW, I will bet money the Godfather has a trick up his sleeve to remedy your problem.

THANKS, GODFATHER!!!!!!!!!

BTW, the transmission is back in now also.

I want to have my engine tin powder coated. Does anyone have any recomendations as to where to take it?
