Many thanks to Justin and Zen.    Pulled Stupies engine sat night .   not too bad.  Then got started Sunday morning  operating.   Tearing all the heads off . looking around.   Justin had a head to replace Stupies head with the coiled out sparkplug.   THe case bolts were loose.  screwed them up tight.  maybe a leak fix.  Put new push rod tubes in.  maybe a leak fix. .
Put in a new clutch for giggles

Found washers under the rockers.  Hmm that was weird.  Zen deduced that the valves were wallered out too much  and the washers were the only way to get clearance to adjust the valves.  Brilliant.   I figured oh well,  but Justin and Zen said lets change out the long valves with this  long socket and a rubber hammer.  Pretty neat, set the valves.  We had 3 case studs that did not want to let loose the nuts .  That was the worst.

Time was running out.  needed studs for the exhaust pipes.   Quick get to Ace HW on Sunday.  By the way.  they close at 5 and it is 5:10. Panic.  stop at            O" reillys.   Score. they had 3 packs holding 2 bolts each that would work.  Justin  had a cutting wheel drill do hicky ,  an cut the bolt heads off.   Real sparky and cool  .  Its like 6pm Sunday and we just are getting the exhaust pipes on.  getting the engine in , Getting dark,  Getting tired.. getting a little sick of Stupie. \

Justin is rewiring  all the burned and cracked wires.  I'm hooking up the gas lines.   By the way gas stings when it drips in you ear.  Note to self.   Earplug next time.  Its 9:30 Sunday night.  Justin is ready for Stupie to go home.  Justin  decides to drive Stupie home.  I'm not sure the lights work.  But they do.  Justin probaly fixed them when I was not looking.
I cant remember if I ever to drove Stupie at night.  Justin The Fearless
drives Stupie Home.   whew.. what a weekend.

Now that some of the leaks are sealed and everything is torqued down to specs, let's work on getting it running right.

I don't care how good either one is, it'll NEVER run RIGHT with a 009 dizzy and 34 carb.  You gott'a replace one or the other . . . or both.  I suggest starting with carb.  Get a new (or a good used one if you can find it) 30/31 and an adaptor for your dual port intake.  We can probably get your 009 distributor to work with a 30/31 carb.  If you want to keep your 34, you're going to have to get a good SVDA distributor.

Then we need to address that plywood strut mount . . .
