If I'm not mistaken, RetBugtech "laid hands" on it at Bug-A-Paluza 8 and had it running great.  It's been 3 years . . . maybe it's time to adjust the points and re-set the timing?  Maybe adjust the valves?

You know Rick is giving tech sessions at Bug-A-Paluza this year (and he has the ultra-cool see-through engine and tranny as a visual aid).  You really ought to bring Stupie to the show and maybe with all the resources there you can it get it straightened out again and get three more good years out of it.    8)

Is Stupie going to BAP? Maybe you should let Rick demonstrate on him. Poor  Stupie I feel   when I think of him.

Well stupie has a new gas tank.  and the present gas looks orange rather than brown so I think that is an improvement.  THe gas in it is  from my wreched suberu.   Lets say OCt/Nov 08 gas.  I wrenched the head bolts tight back in sept.  Only 18 lbs.  I think I should have done 22 but I was fraid they would strip out.      While Stupie was rumbling yestureday ,  I pulled plug wires to see if running on 3 pistons made any difference.  It did not seem to matter.  I did get spark jump on each one.  Does that help?  I did not mess with anything like timing or plugs etc.  I promise.   SC

I went out and pulled the valve cover and maybe my valves are too tight.  I could not figure out when the piston was at top.    Cant I look at the rotor and when it is close to the dist cap wire that goes to the piston I'm setting valves ,  then its about tod dead center?

AMEN!  Even if you don't learn anything, Rick's cut-away engine and tranny is really cool to look at!   8)  :D
