Someting's Burning.

« on: March 21, 2009, 09:57:24 PM »
I've noticed something that smells like plastic burning when I park my '05 New Beetle. I can't pin-point where it's coming from :-k . I'm pretty sure it's not in the engine compartment and I don't see any melted Bi-Lo bags on the exhaust system. Any thoughts?

It  may be friction between the insurance policies in the glove box

If yo're able to pin-point the area of the car, let me know, otherwise, not too sure.  I have seen a bunch of cars where the fender liners get knocked loose, and they drag on the tire, eating into them.

I'll check the fender liner. I haven't heard any kind of rubbing noise. The car's had sort of a whinig noise in the front end for a while. It reminds me of almost a bearing noise but it's a really low milage car.  Oh yea, one more thing-the car is dark blue. Any problem with those?
