Does anyone know of a good place in the area (Knoxville- Chattanooga) that I can get fog lights for my 1970 bug?
I am also looking to get (in the future) earlier bumpers to get rid of the "band-aids" that I have now. I found one guy up here in K-town, but he wanted $180 for a STOCK exhaust, and I know that if he's gouging for exhaust, he's going to go nuts on everything else. Any ideas, folks?

Oh, and I have a question regarding my turn signals- sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. What I mean is- they blink on some days, and other days they just stay on- no blinking. What do I check for?

Sorry for the silly questions- I'm not VW savvy just yet, but I'm learning. :)

I have a leak somewhere in the front of my bus . . . every time it rains hard, my turn signals stop flashing.  After I replaced two flashers, I figured out that they were filling up with water (the flasher is mounted upsided down under the dash of my bus).  I bought a new solid state flasher (about $9 at Auto Zone), popped the plastic cover off of it, cut the corners off of the cover and put it back on.  Now water will run out as fast as it runs in (pretty fast . . . I've got a BAD leak).  If it's raining hard for several hours, my turn signals won't flash, but as soon as the sun comes out for a little while, they are back to normal.

Is there any pattern to the days they don't work and the weather?  If so, I would suspect you have flasher problem.

Yeah, it seems that the colder days are the days when the flasher doesn't work correctly. The sunnier days are when they work fine. Thanks, Zen- I'll check that out tomorrow!

As for buying "stuff" David, wait 'til the show and you will find much better prices on just about everything you want to buy. I think $180 is a bit high unless it's stainless steel and I think I've seen SS cheaper than that at shows.

BE PATIENT !!  :D

The show is about 49 days away :O .
