Question on wire...

« on: April 02, 2008, 12:36:27 PM »
I have my original sapphire ix am radio installed in the bug. I have the speaker wires attached to my non working speaker ( till i get the new one ) and the power lead hooked to the fuse box. My question is what is the " Blue " wire from the radio for. Is it a ground or what. I just want to make sure that i do not mess up the radio by connecting it wrong........Rob

Try this link.

From what I can tell it is the dial lamp lead that piggy backs off of the clock lamp.

Thanks for the link, i looled at it and it has helped. However i do not have a clock/lamp so i can not hook it there. Can i just connect it to te extra fuse that i have the radio power lead hooked at?

You could piggy back it off of any of your instrument lamps so that when you turn your lights on the radio light will come on.  If you hook up straight power the light will stay on constantly
