Question about running boards

« on: July 28, 2008, 04:16:33 PM »
OK , On the out side of the inside of the board( If that makes any sense) right under the bolts , is there a plate or something that sandwiches the boards on? or just washers, it just seems awful thin in there to me. Am waiting with baited breath for your answers. :)

Just washers.....I wouldn't recommend standing on them by any means.  I like to use the larger diameter fender style washers when you can find them, sometimes you might have to modify them a bit to get them on, but it does help spread the load out.

Ace Hardware has the fender washers . At least the Ace at the corner of Lee Highway and Airport Rd had them.
Remember ,they are running boards and not standing boards . They would barely hold up Rachel . Your rather large bod would be totaly out of the question Big Guy
