OK , On the out side of the inside of the board( If that makes any sense) right under the bolts , is there a plate or something that sandwiches the boards on? or just washers, it just seems awful thin in there to me. Am waiting with baited breath for your answers.

Just washers.....I wouldn't recommend standing on them by any means. I like to use the larger diameter fender style washers when you can find them, sometimes you might have to modify them a bit to get them on, but it does help spread the load out.

Ace Hardware has the fender washers . At least the Ace at the corner of Lee Highway and Airport Rd had them.
Remember ,they are running boards and not standing boards . They would barely hold up Rachel . Your rather large bod would be totaly out of the question Big Guy
