Oil sump pan question.

« Reply #15 on: April 24, 2008, 01:17:46 PM »
Ok i may have to recant my earlier rantngs about my cracked sump pan. I just pulled it off the ramps and i seemed to be wrong. I did grab the belt pully and pushed and pulled. There was bairly any play at all if any. I also was able to get the sump pan wiped off great so i could see that what i thought was a crack was not one. The small drip took about 3 minutes to start and then i saw that it came from above the pan in the middle where the motor and trans connect it looked like. The drip was very slow and never droped on the ground so not much came out. So now i need to figure out what and where it is from.......

Like I said before.   I would bet on a flywheel/crankshaft seal just starting to seep.  You do have a tranny inputshaft seal in there also that could be starting to seep. I would replace it at the same time just for the heck of it and be done with it.
You sound OK on your endplay from what you have told me.
Keep a watch on the seep. It will get worse over time. How much time ?  hard to say.
