Do you have the right pump for the camshaft ?    flat or dish cam.

Yep,couldnt get oil pressure, took it apart blew out the passages and checked the relief valve.. The pump just decided it was time to die.
This is why I absolutley hate reusing parts!

Wouldnt it be nice to assemble 1, just 1 with all new parts?Thats what make stroker motors sound so good. Sure it's a pain setting rocker arm geometry and deck heighl but nobodies even gunna think of reusing a 30 year old oil pump on it. I did manage to crank  out an 1835 this week. Not a stroker but still fun.
Didnt have any used parts there. Fella picked it up today and drove off to Hotlanta in his baha.Thats good cant have a baha sittin around the house, gives the wrong impression. It is the 1st raised beam I've ever adjusted....weird aluminum beam????

Oh and on the post subject,I'll probably come out for a bit I need the break from the stuffy garage.

Well !!  Pretty weird that it would not pump something. I never have had a pump that wouldn't pump some kind of pressure. Hmmmm

It pumped just enough to turn the oil light off. Then at about a minute into it it squeeled and the light came on.

Well you need to enlighten me. I'm not looking at the pump.  What did you find ?  Gear spinning on the shaft ?    locked up ?   broke the drive gear?   mis-match gears,  wrong pump for the wrong cam ?  Gears ate the cover or housing up ?    Have you even pulled the pump off yet ?
Why don't you bring the pump to the cruise-in tonight and we will look it over.

Sorry,  Just read your P.M.   Strange that it locked # 1 main. I have a case on the floor that had the oil galley plugged from the rear (fly wheel end) cam brg. up to the main brg with Dirt-Dauber mud. Never could get it out.
I wonder if anybody has ever found something that would eat that stuff. Its like concrete.  I even tried muratic acid. No cigar.
I want to see that pump anyway.
