Think about it...a bearing is a little metal wheel upon a wheel with rollers in it for uses such as your rotors, wheels, rods, cranks, cams, etc. where things spin or turn.  Does your muffler spin or turn?

Is your leg sore from being pulled on?

Don`t  fret.  You are not the first one to have to deal with the "muffler Brg."  I don`t  think your model car came with one anyway.  It did make you stop and think which could be a good thing sometimes. Not to worry, We won`t let you get in trouble. You have to watch this bunch. When I started out with VW years ago, I would get both legs jerked on belive me. After you have paid your Dues, pay-backs are sweet. Good luck on your new job. :thumbs-up:

As far as my head lights go, I have narrowed it down to the fuse block. I can runb my hands over the fuse block and my front drivers side light begins to work again. I will relplace the fuse block, anyone got one that is good for sale? Or even a new one?

Can`t check your "tick" until this weekend.    Take your fuses out and sand the contacts with some fine grit paper. Replace needed fuses if they look kind of chalky and corroaded. More than likey will fix you up. Spin your fuses around when you install so they will make good contact in the panel

David,  I didn't make myself clear.. The fuse block side that i have to rub is the side where all the wires connect.. I have made mistakes with wires recently. LOL.. I had one touching that I didn't think to test to make sure if it was hot or not and it blew the fuse to the flasher and when i put another one back in it melted into my finger. "Attention boys and girls do not do this"!!! Then just today I started off at a redlight and didn't obiviously put my back up light wire up to good and it wraped around my tag light wire and ripped it apart, So in the lowes parking lot i had to rewire it... Man. NEWBIE HERE.. David I may be able to get to your house this weekend but I am going on the road this week. If I can get there I will call you.. Thanks and people please put the wires up and make sure the engine can't eat them  ...

Aaron, If any of those wires feel loose on the panel , you can crimp them a bit . They can be coroded on the back side also. If any of the terminals are loose in the panel, replace it

After reading all this and doing some pondering (thinkin ) I think that this headlight dilema might have something to do with the bad muffler bearing :!:  What do you think Hedb?

Randy, I don't think his muffler bearing has anything to do with his headlight delima BUT I am of the oppinion his kanuter valve is probably sticking a little causing the headlight flicker. :?

Herb ,You are very much in the wrong. The Kanuter valve was done away with years ago by VW and was adopted by animal vets to use on business cards:  Kan-Nuter------$69.95.  VWoA sued and got a restraining order to keep the vets from passing out the business card and offering to "Nuter" the entire staff of VWoA at a discount. Alas! It didn`t come to past. Just think ,they could have had a wonderful Boys Choir and left The VW Clubs alone.

 I wonder if this kid got my first VW. My 72 SB was nothing but a nightmare. I should have known what I was getting myself into when I bought it and the owner said " The motor's over there." I looked and asked where "over there" was. He said "In the cardboard box." I walked over and there it was------In about a zillion pieces! That was just the start. After two motors I had an electrical problem. No headlights! I proceeded to go though the wiring- using a haynes manual( frankly not worth a d_mn) and my own drawn out pictires of what went where. Complete Nightmare!!! Worst part is when you are trying to trace the wires but they are MELTED together   Just thought I'd share that with yall- not to discourage you, but rather inform you that it will be a time consuming endeavor.

I remember him asking if anyone recognized it when he first started posting . . . he said it had a Volks Folks sticker on it when he bought it.  So at some point in time it must have belonged to someone else in the club.  :-k

Aaron, have you got any good pictures of it you can post?  Maybe we are getting to the bottom of your problems.  Like I told Smelly Cat about one of his problems . . . the first thing you need to learn is how to blame all of the problems with your car on the previous owner!

 Now Zen don't you even think of trying to blame this on the Schneckinator. I had my SB in 92 to93, Way before I joined the club. That's not to say that it didn't migrate around the way and end up at some point witha member and now to aaron?
Godfather- What do you think about Zen tring to pas the blame? I would say that he was behind the trouble with this VW,but if he had worked on it somehow it would still be working correctly. Even though all that was making it work was some duct tape and some telephone wire. :D
