I don't know of any VW junk yards in this area. Thats why you get in your VW slow down and hit the back roads and start looking in back yards. Knock on front doors and get real good at asking { is that old VW for sale } Then get real used to hearing { NO I'm going to restore it one day } Then keep looking. Before long you will be able to spot a VW in a barn 500ft off the road. Noing it's a VW only by the one headlight ring you seen thru the crack in the wall. 8)

There is a black '67 sitting in the back of a body shop's lot between Villanow and Dalton.  I asked about it about 10 years ago and it belonged to a customer who was looking for another chassis to put it on 'cause it had "rusted out floors."  It's still there.  It didn't look too bad ten years ago.

A few years ago I passed a place on top of Sand Mountain that had all kinds of air-cooled VWs sitting along the side of the road.  I don't remember exactly where it was at though.  I "think" if you take GA 136 up Sand Mountain and stay on it across the state line and go until the road ends into another road . . . at that point if you turn right you will head off of the mountain and down towards Stevenson . . . turn left and drive several miles . . . might be 5, might be 25 . . . can't remember for sure . . . anyway, somewhere out there strung out along the side of the road, along a driveway and out in the edge of the woods there are a BUNCH of old Volkswagens . . . Bugs, Buses, Single Cabs, Double Cabs, and maybe a few type 3s.  There wasn't anyone at home at any of the houses next to them the time I passed them.  Most of them looked pretty rough, but I'm sure there are lots of good parts and MAYBE a few restorable cars in the bunch.  Again, it was a few years ago I ran across them . . . don't have a clue if they are still there.

Hey I've got a 67 here for parts... pretty rough shape though,  what might you be looking for?? I'm in southern WV, but if I have something you need,  thats not a big obsticle.  just to give you an idea... it took me 3 1/2  hours to drive to Sevierville (spelling) last weekend.
