As I was tinkering under hood, by the terminal strip on the  drivers, there is a door switch relay. When I  turn the key to the on postion and the door is open, the relay makes a, I would call it a whining sound. When the door is shut, no sound.
Is the open door buzzer built in to this relay? I never heard it until today. Of course I never had the key on, door open, hood raised until today. didn't know wether to replace this relay or not.

Holy Cow!!!  It still worked ?   I can`t remember how many of my customers used to come into my shop and ask how they could kill that *&$%#^&  buzzer. I pulled the relay out of one of my customers car one day after listen to it squeak and rasp , scream in my ear for a hour. I was already hot and ticked off. I stomped the relay into dust on the floor. About two weeks later The customer came in and wondered why his buzzer didn`t work. He had not missed it until the day before he came back in. He wanted it fixed. I Did.  :angry:
