alternator on my 66 has acted up ever since i got it lil over a month ago. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. today i snuck her out for a drive and voltmeter jumps over to 18 volts! i quickly turn off the lights (which made for an interesting drive home in the dark)..
  it is a bosch al82n with internal reg.   does anyone know if the reg. can be replaced while in the car? know of any shops that can do it?
