I just took apart my dash and I see NOWHERE in here a place where the bulbs go in the instrument cluster housing. What did I miss?

Well I put it all back together and now my speedometer doesn't work. Argh. Oh well, that's just more of an incentive to get it open again if someone can tell me how to get these lights working. I'm thinking the speedo cable just didn't get plugged in all the way, there wasn't much slack back there.

On a good note though, the lights in the middle behind my air conditioning controls started working again, miraculously.

Russ,
I haven't been behind the instrument panel of either of our "new" VWs.  I have been behind the AC panel to replace those little bulbs.  Sorry, I can't help.  Do you have a Haynes manual for your car?  I can look in the manual for the 2000 Passat and see if anything in there could help you.

Give me a little time and I'll get back with you.
