i'm back

« on: December 09, 2008, 01:08:26 PM »
Ok you know I don't spain things very well so pay attention. I just know FeeBee's problem is a simple fix. Here's the deal. David the carburetor is a 34pic. That's what the Mainley man said to get. I remember now that you said it would not work with our distributor so I am going to replace the distributor but what kind? I PROMISE I will write it down. Here's the scenerio. FeeBee starts fine and with the clutch in  :D Idels good but the clutch out   dies. Now that's before the choke kicks in. Once the choke kicks in she won't idel at all. I've gone to far to just let her sit in the garage. We also put a new shifter in and can't get her in gear but that we can fix sooner or later. Here's what I don't understand why would she run perfectly before we started the floor pans then after all that is done all of a sudden she won't run?

For one the weather changed so the choke is probably a bt off now. Second ya keep messin with it.

The clutchout dying sounds like your clutch might need adjusted out a tad but that's just a guess. DONT MESS WITH IT!!

The shifter: You might just need to align it a lil better, what kind was it?Didnt you go back stock?

You need a SVDA (single vacum duel advance)Distributer. You will have to order one online I know you know how to do that. They are pricey but worth it you can run that 34 with anything else without the hesitation in it.

Hope that helps and saves David a few minutes.

Alright , Its FUSSING TIME. Why did you buy that pict 34 in the first place ?  You already had a pict 34 . Rick said that he wanted to keep that dist . and I told you Guys to make it work you have to use a 30-31 carb to get rid of the hesitation and other problems or buy a single vac. dist. I would go for a 30-31 carb myself because I know they work. Don't screw up MY engine !!
I assume you bought a new  STOCK shift lever.  There is an adjustment/trick  on getting it right. You just can't bolt it in and have it shift right. Remember you have a really bad bearing in the tranny and this is causing a shaft to move back and forth which could cause a shifting problem.
Hard to tell you about the clutch/idle thing because I don't understand what you are trying to tell me. What in the heck do you mean clutch in, clutch out?  Do you mean the pedal is  mashed IN or OUT ?
Do you have any brakes yet ?
As you said "GOOD GRIEF CHARLIE BROWN " STAND AWAY from FeeBee and don't touch another thing until we can get her up here which won't be long now that I'm getting some heat. We can fix the tranny at the same time if you want to. You just about have that job paid for.
Call me please and you and I  start looking for a 30-31 carb/adapter Kit. They are out there. I don't give a CRAP about what Manily said
OK Thats all I have to say about this

cip1.com  part#  C24-043-905-205-ZB thats the dizzy you need to run a 34 pic carb.

or heres the carb you need to run a 009 dizzy: part  VWC-113-129-029-A - 30/31 PICT BROSAL CARB

So there ,they do exsist!  Me? I hate the 34 pic carb and the 009 both!  But the 34 is a decent carb and the 009 aint bad either just cant use them together and Mainly should know that as long as they have been around.

I still would be temped to go for the 30-31 knowing that FeeBee has a almost new 009 with electronic "stuff" .  This would get rid of any little fits that the 34 could give and will.
