I don't know whats up. Now I can't get it to mess up. I tried the ground thing you told me and it didn't do anything. Then I polorized the gen(again) and let it sit now its fine. I did notice some nice src welding on the brand new reg. Now if my back seat springs hit on iy could that cause all this nightmare? I think they did touch it.

ayep David you were right the gen is smoked and glowing like a roman candle, Hey thanks Pep Boys! Buttheads! I retested the reg from them and it was charging backand forth 13v to18v!

a frriends had adeath in the family so work has been on and off got it going again tip-top no problems. btw love the dang moon keys on the alt nothing like halting a project in search of one.
