Greetings, this is my first post here and I hate to do it under these circumstances. First let me tell you what I drive.
It's a 1998 Volkswagen Jetta GLX VR6, automatic transmission. Here is the problem(s).
1.) I have a check engine light, code is P0411. (Secondary Air Intake Malfunctioning) I am 90% sure it's one of the vacuum lines I cannot reach. Perhaps the on under the intake manifold. The other thing it could be is the kombivalve, because the air pump is running fine, and the fuse at relay 101 is intact as well.
2.) This just started yesterday. We are losing coolant somewhere. I do not know where, but it's likely a hose has a crack in it somewhere. I do not have the know-how to find it and replace it by myself.
I called a local mechanic shop and they quoted my around $1000 to fix the problems above. (It's likely a .60 vacuum line and a $20 coolant hose causing the problems) I really do not have the money to spare on a car that is barely worth $5000 to begin with.
Anyway, I come here looking for help. Is there anyone here that would be willing to repair this for me for a reasonable amount of money? If not, could you guys at least suggest a repair shop that won't bend me over for labor? If so, please post it here or email me at: wilkins.rob@gmail.com
Thank you in advance, really would appreciate the help. We are a rather low income household and are really in a fix right now. Please help me out. =(
