Headlight switch

I'm not sure "high quality" and "headlight switch" should be used in the same sentence any more.  I bought a German made headlight switch for Homer a few months back.  It didn't have the same number of terminals or the same layout of the old switch, but I was eventually able to decode the terminal numbers and get everything hooked up . . . but the headlights didn't work on dim.  So I swapped around a few wires a dozen or so times and never found a combination that made everything work at once like it should.  Kyle came over and brought a multi-meter and figured out that the new switch had a dead terminal.   :?  And, being it was an electrical part, it couldn't be returned.  :x  I fixed the 36 year old one where it wouldn't thow out sparks when you touched it and put it back in it.  It's still working fine. 8)
