Hazard Switch Questions...

« on: May 24, 2008, 10:30:40 AM »
I think that I have found the problem with the turn signals.
My hazard light switch is litterally in pieces.
The back is broken free from the housing....
I assume this is why my turn signals are DOA.
Any way Lamar in Dalton is CLOSED (how dare he... )
I can get a new switch from Mainly Foreign in Chatt for like $50....
OUCH.
Anyway, Can a latter 74-79 switch be used, (for some reason the switch is way cheaper.
I looked at the wireing diagrams and they look to wire up the same way.
The only difference that I can see in the wireing Diagram is that the latter one has a resistor in the box and has 2 fewer terminals (54f and 54) but the 72 doesn't use them anyway.

I haven't seen them side by side, but can they be interchanged?

I appreciate it.
