when i took the gen. stand off .There wasn't a gasket on it only the baffle. Was there suppose to be a gasket and if so do I put a gasket on each side of the baffle?

PUT GASKETS ON BOTH SIDES OF BAFFEL.

I didn't do this on ASBug and it oozes oil out of that joint now.  I clean it off about once every 3 months and it goes behind the stand and gets al over everything.
2 other engines built with Gaskets, no leaky.
Put the little paper things on and forget about it...

On all the thin paper gaskets like the ones on the generator stand, I rub a little dab of high temp silicone sealer into both sides of the gasket before I install them.  It seems to help keep them dryer.  If any squeezes out when you tighten 'em down, that's too much.  You just need enough to sort'a "rubberize" the paper.
