Gas Leak

« on: June 20, 2009, 12:22:21 PM »
When I take a left turn gas scoots up the filler pipe and sloshes down the right fender.  I wrap an old tee shirt around the filler tube and cap and close that little gas door to keeep it in.   When I got Stupie the gas cap was broke  so I scored a free one from a guy at work.  The cap  screws in the pipe but it has to be perfectly aligned.    Maybe its the wrong cap for Stupie.  Anyone got a cap.  I'm going to get a no smoking sign today an post it on the passenger fender

"Works"  is such a relative term.  Do you mean "Works like New"

For instance,  the brakes work,  one might have to think a ahead a bit before using them.  Ya they work that way.   Not like "Stop on a DIme "  works.

The left blinker works,  the right blinker does not.   That probaly has to do with my politics anyway.  SC

I looked around here and couldn't find an extra cap.  I know it goes against your nature (I'm the same way) but you should invest in a new cap.  They don't "that" much . . . especially when it stops $2.50+ a gallon gas from sloshing out of your tank.  Not only is that expensive, it can ruin your paint job!  8)

Oh Ya,  Stupie probaly has more paint than any car i know.
Gas does have the tenency to take this Walmart 99cent red right off.  But it is kind fun to hear people as they walk by say....  " Do you smell gas?"
The cap I have has a click in it that wont let me make it tight.  I saw one on cip1  and it looked like it was one piece.  it was almost 5 bucks .   Sc
