Actually, I've found that the inflatable mattresses work better, as they collapse down and aren't nearly as noticeable as the old stained twin size going down the road. About the only problem with those is that they make those gnarly gassy emmission noises when you move around on them.  I spend about half of my time saying, " No, really, I swear....It was the mattress.  That wasn't me..."
