does a washer go behind the alt pulley

the back of my alt pulley is rubbing a screw that holds the alt together.  IS there suppposed to be a washer between the pulley and the Alt?  or maybe the pully is worn our?   SC

There is a small spacer that goes on the shaft.

Thanks  Bugtech,  I got big washer for 29 cents at the HW store,  It did not fit,  I spend 40 minutes with a poinnty  grinder attachment to get the inner washer hole the right size,

Now I must ask,   does a lock washer go on the outside to hold it all together?.  I seem to keep getting looserer.  SC

No lock washer, but you should have 8-10 big, thin washers stacked, otherwise stuff ain't gonna hold together right....

There aren't that many rubber gloves on the face of the earth... he has to use other found objects.

I guess we should give him a little credit for really working the "Re-use" portion of the recycling triangle....

ONE small spacer 3-4mm tall, fits over the shaft of the generator, small diameter, that spaces the pulley outward.... then, 8-10 large spacer washers for the pulley itself....
