So my weekend project was to seal off the drafty fresh air vents on the front of the bus. I used to take Saran Wrap and wrap the leaf guard in it, that helped but it looked funny, so I tried to go for something a little more permanent.
After removing the front grille and leaf guard, I removed the two flaps that open and close that control air flow into the cabin.
If these things had seals on them originally, there's not much left now. And metal on metal doesn't seal against air very well, so I went to Lowe's and found this stuff called "Camper Seal", a foam tape meant to seal camper tops on the back of pickup trucks. I cut some strips and fit them to the inside of each flap.
Then I reinstalled them and played with the connecting arm that goes to the fresh air lever on the dash. Turns out it's adjustable, so I tightened it down as far as I could to ensure the flaps remain fully closed when in the up position. The result is no more draft when driving down the road. Success!
