I have a question  (imagine that) Would you mind checking the MaMotorworks site and take a lookie at that shifter #309-541 Empi Trigger shifter and give me your opinion on it. Now you have me worried about aftermarket parts. If you think it would be a   to put in I will send it back and get something else.

I'll tell ya what he will say, dont do it. He will soon be mumbling something about scyncros and 10 million times to fast for the trans yada yadda.
Seriously the only shifters I found worth messing with are original Hurst shifters and Gene Berg shifters. Dont show the Empi one to David and definetly dont hand it to him.

No,No,No, !!!     You said a dirty word.  " EMPI Trigger Shifter"
Alright now , altogether 1 2 3  STOCK, OEM and cheaper.
Look at it this way. VW spent $$$$$$$$ in designing the shift lever for FeeBee. It always worked.  Why would you give someone in China all your money for a Faux shifter that is going to rip up your syncro.rings and God only knows what else.
As you know now , I also repair Trannys . If you choose to use that P.O.S. ,  I will put you under contract to do all your tranny work. Albert deAllison does need a few things that are a bit costly.
Hint---- Check with someone around here before you start buying fancy looking Junk and as I told you ,there is a lot of "pretty" junk out there. Dang !!

Debbie,   This is what I would recomend.    Mid-America has a new stock shifter lever kit complete.   Re- check with them on their part # 309-538

Dang it...I knew that was coming  When I told you on the phone my shifter broke there was a "moment of silence" and I knew it was not for our fearless troops fighting for our country  That's when I started doubting my online purchase. Heck I'm a rookie I don't know the difference stock and chicken broth. So I will send that one back and order the one you suggested and from now on David you need to keep a better eye on me

Shifters are very tricky and a bad one can do bad things to your trans.
There's a reason empi copied the Hurst Shifter...it works pretty darn good. However they dont make em anymore and if you find one it needs to be gone through. Gene Bergs are where its at but they'll let you know that with the price.
Unless you want to spend a mint I'd stick with what David says:STOCK!!!
For a grumpy ole fella he gives pretty good advice if ya listen to him.Or dont and learn yourself. Duel carbs anyone????

If it's made by EMPI, it probably won't last long enough to rip up the syncros!
