Would be cool to have another ASBug around though. I believe that you would be the one of just a few in the history of VW's that has decided to transplant an Autostick into a bug / ghia...

I had a dune buggy a few years ago and I was seriously considering putting an autostick in it, but I was going to do away with the automatic clutch.  I had talked to a couple of folks who had done it and had gathered up everything I needed.   I never finished the project because I figured out that I couldn't fit in the buggy.

well i got the old 69 up on the ramps earlier and had the wife push and release the clutch peddle so i could zero in on the squeak. It is definately in the tunnel some where. However i can not even find a way to get too where it is. So i guess that i will have to leave it to squeak till i shoot it or something breaks unless someone here with greater knowlege than I can tell me how to get too it.

There is VERY LIMITED access into the tunnel.  For some stuff you have to cut your own access hole and then weld it up when you're done.  But don't just go cutt'n holes until you've done your homework . . . there are a lot of tubes in there!!!

trust me, i may have to relearn all the vw stuff i forgot from 20 years ago but one thing i do know is that i am not going to go cutting holes in my tunnel, frame etc. I will just have to wait till i can find someone that can do it for me that knows what they are doing. Besides i do not have a welder and have not welded sence 9th grade.
