clang clang

« on: April 17, 2009, 09:22:30 AM »
Driving home last night as I was turning on 2-A I heard this CLANG CLANG CLANG coming from feeBee's rear. Sounded like metal hitting metal. She ran fine on the way home. This morning I heard a grinding sound and I looked at the motor (like I knew what I was looking for) I found this little black rubber thing about 2 inches long maybe a sparkplug cover? That's what it looked like. Could Feeb have blown out a plug and still ran ok? If so why would that happen?

My ASBug's sparkplug wire wasn't pushed on good one time and came off on the interstate, no noise, BUT the power drop was huge...
You would feel a loss of a cylinder.
Have your husband look at it, a spark plug wire looks about the same for all viehicles.

hmmm...No loss of power I actually passed 2 cars on 2-A which is a feat in itself on 2-A. I will keep checking. Maybe something else flew off and knocked off that rubber cover

What I am saying is , Does the noise go away when you stop moving or does the engine make the noise while you are stopped and the engine is idling ??

While it is idling. It only made the clang clang once sounded like something flew off. This morning it sounded like something was loose but it only lasted a second. I didn't drive her to work this morning. When I get back from Tunica I will drive down the road and try to get more information. I am guessing something metal flew off and knocked of that plug wire.

I will sniff it when I get back from tunica I will say that the gas smell on the way home was very strong. Now Justin said we needed to replace some hoses at some point
